The Wakefield Activity Agreement team are very proud to announce that Ruby has been awarded the Diana Award for her personal commitment and involvement to community projects.
The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Award is a UK wide Award which recognises the contribution young people make on their local schools and communities.
As well as signing up to the Activity Agreement, in her spare time 17 year old Ruby has been volunteering with The Cross Project, a straight-talking sex education group which educates school pupils and the Bike Project, a project which reconditions bikes to send to families in Africa.
Ruby’s confidence and self esteem have greatly increased through her involvement on the projects. She has dedicated a lot of time and energy to both projects and in September she hopes to begin a year as a voluntary church youth worker.
Chloe Afferson, Activity Agreement Keyworker from Wakefield says “Ruby has shown herself to be highly motivated and her hard work and commitment deserve to be recognised. “
