The first event held in Centenary Square for Gypsy Roma and Traveller communities in Bradford took place on the 18th June as part of a month long celebration aiming to give people in the city a better understanding of their history and culture. In addition to traditional music, dance, crafts and singing showcasing on the day, people could find out about local gypsy and traveller history, sit in a traditional wagon or even get their fortune read.
Bradford Activity Agreement team attended the event to promote the programme to local residents and other agencies working with gypsy, roma and traveller communities. They also found time to do some celebrity spotting and have their photo taken with Jody Latham, star from Shameless and Hell’s Kitchen who opened the day.
