Young people on the Activity Agreement were invited to attend an information day on volunteering in Wakefield on Monday 9th February 2009 at 1.30 – 4.30pm.

During the day they had the opportunity to meet organisations that provide volunteering opportunities across the district, discuss the range of occupational areas available, and find out how they can benefit from taking part.

The following organisations attended:

DISC - Offers opportunities to young people across the district in a range of occupational areas including Retail, Warehouse, Admin, Customer service.

Groundwork – Offers opportunities in Landscaping, Horticulture, Construction and Environmental Care

Volunteer2play – Offers opportunities in Childcare and Early years care

Nacro – Offers opportunities in Youth work, Catering and Sports coaching
