A Youth with a Future Game Plan When Brendan Cavell signed up for the Activity Agreement he admitted that his major passion was online gaming – Xbox style; he also confessed to attending associated conventions where the like-minded meet, chat and exchange ideas face to face.
So when he embarked on a five week (3 hours per session) multi-media course with “Future Youth” at Old broadcasting House he took to it like an Xbox 360 to gaming. Commencing with some basic animation (using “Frame Thief” and “Modul8”), Brendan progressed to more sophisticated processes involved in producing a short music video.
He’s looking at further improving his specialist IT skills at “Studio 12”, where, if upon fulfilling the criteria over a 30hrs time period, he will be rewarded with a nationally recognized qualification.
“I’d really like a job which was in some way related to gaming” says Brendan, “so in the meantime this is a good way to show I’m prepared to get my head around some of the software and techniques”.
